HTC Community Meeting at the Mission Hills - Hillcrest/Knox Library
Hillcrest finally has a library - and it's beautiful! In order to get a good look at the new Mission Hills - Hillcrest/Knox Library, we'll be hosting our April Community Meeting at the library, which will include our usual brief updates and community representative reports, followed by a guided tour of the building!
Everyone is welcome to join us - we look forward to meeting all of our neighbors and seeing this beautiful new community resource together!
The library is wheelchair accessible. There are 84 parking spaces available on site, with 5 reserved for disability access. MTS bus routes 3 and 10 serve the location.
Mission Hills - Hillcrest/Knox Library
The Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Library is located at 215 West Washington Street, between Goldfinch and Hawk Streets. This library was opened on Jan. 26, 2019 and serves the communities Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, Middletown, Mission Hills and Old Town. Named in honor of the late philanthropists Harley and Bessie Knox, the new Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Knox Library expects to have 350,000 patron visits each year.
The 14,000-square-foot library is more than triple the size of the community’s previous library that was built in 1961. It features modern amenities, including designated areas for teens and young children, a community meeting space, study rooms, computer labs, drought-tolerant landscaping, an underground parking garage and a design expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.
